FIFA president to ban Iran from the World Cup

FIFA president to ban Iran from the World Cup

The world football governing body FIFA has received a letter from some concerned Iranian sportsmen and women alike. They were urging them to ban the Iranian football association and ultimately restricting the national team from participating in the World Cup 2022.

The FIFA rules are very clear concerning the involvements of government in the sports affairs of a nations' football body. And at the moment the Iranian football council is heavily under the control of the government hence the call for the ban.

Also, women are not allowed to watch games in the stadium in Iran. A decision FIFA frowns at, because all and sundry should be allowed the freedom of doing such. The Iranian nation lifted the ban in 2019 when FIFA first spotted the issue but have since then gone back on their decision and women are out of the stadia again.

The appeal was made to FIFA by some concerned Iranian sports lovers and the letter urges FIFA to place a ban on the association and national football team from the upcoming World Cup in Qatar next month.
