The USA Team fails to advance in the 4x100 relay at the Tokyo Olympics.

When Ronnie Baker o the USA Team attempted to take the baton for the first time, he ended up holding a handful of Fred Kerley's jersey Baker whiffed the second time and Kerley was side-by-side with Baker by the third try, nearly shoveling the stick into his teammate's palm with both hands.

The names may change, but the American Olympic 4x100-meter relay team's results remain just as brutal for a USA Team. The Americans were wrecked in qualifying Thursday, finishing sixth and missing the final, extending a quarter-century of agony for the country that sends the deepest track team to the Olympics.

Kerley, who ran the second leg, remarked, "We just didn't get the job done today, that's all."

Outrage erupted swiftly, as it always does when anything like this occurs. The USA team did everything wrong in the men's relay. The passing system is incorrect, competitors are running on the wrong legs, and there is no discernible leadership. It was a huge humiliation and inexcusable for a US team.
